Six Years ago Family and Children's Council established the Family Friendly Workplace Award as a way to recognize employers that support their staff in maintaining a balance between work and family life. You are receiving this because we hope your business offer family friendly practices. The deadline for the application is May 1, 2005.

Anyone can nominate his or her workplace. The judges were especially impressed by the application that included several co-signers. Also, employees who nominate their companies are encouraged to submit versus human resource managers (although their help and support is also welcome in the application).

The award will be presented at the Family and Children's Council Annual Meeting on June 16, 2005, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Waterloo Center for the Arts. Even if your organization doesn't win, you are welcome to come and learn more about our child abuse prevention work.

Recognizing family friendly workplaces is compatible with the missions of Family and Children's Council, which is to prevent child abuse and strengthen families. As our agency is celebrating its 25th anniversary, we look forward to recognizing the efforts your organization has made to help you staff balance work and family life. Please be sure that applications are received in our office by May 1, 2005.
